16:31 Peasholme Green, York.
York crews attended a wheelie bin well alight. Cause of fire is believed to be deliberate. A hose reel was used to extinguish the fire.
16:52 Moor Monkton.
Acomb crews responded to reports of fire in a field. On arrival they requested two further appliances. York and Huntington then also attended. This incident involved a 300m x 200m fire in a stubble field. Crews extinguished the fire using four hose reels, breathing apparatus and beaters. The Farmer also assisted crews at the scene.
17:46 Scruton.
Northallerton crews responded to reports of a fire sighted in a field. On arrival the crew confirmed a controlled burn was ongoing and was under supervision. Fire Service were not required.
19:04 Lower Ebor Street, York.
Huntington crews attended a small pile of rubbish set alight deliberately in an alleyway. On arrival the fire had died out. Crews carried out inspection only.
21:17 Crossgates, Scarborough.
Scarborough crews attended a fire in the open measuring 6 m x 6 m. The fire consisted of rubbish. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel and gave advice to the responsible person.
21:19 Maunby
Thirsk crews responded to reports of a bonfire that had gotten out of control. The fire consisted of rubbish and measured 5 m x 5 m and was situated in hedgerow. Crews used a hose reel jet and gave advice to the land owner.
21:20 The Valley, Sandsend.
Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay crew responded to reports of smoke coming from a domestic cottage. On arrival crew confirmed there was no fire, only fumes and steam from cooking.
21:58 Denton
Skipton crew attended a smoke alarm activation at a domestic farmhouse. This was a false alarm.
22:21 Tang Hall
York crews attended a moped set on fire in the park. The moped was destroyed by fire. Fire was started deliberately. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
00:58 Piccadilly, York
York attended a smoke alarm activation at a large retail premises. This was a false alarm.
02:12 Piccadilly, York
York return to Piccadilly, to a different premises, at Police request following raised voices coming from within a hotel room giving them cause for concern. Fire crew liaised with Police – Fire service actions not required.
